Daily Itinerary

Day 1 Day 1 – Depart the USA

Depart the USA on an overnight flight.

Day 2 Day 2 – Arrive in Cairo

You will be welcomed at the Cairo airport by our representative and transferred to your hotel to enjoy dinner before retiring for the night.

Day 3 Day 3 – Cairo

After breakfast, head to the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum. This museum is home to over 120,000 ancient Egyptian antiquities, with a representative amount on display. Later, visit the Pyramids of Giza, one of the only existing Wonders of the Ancient World, and the nearby Great Sphinx of Giza, the largest and most well-known Sphinx.

Day 4 Day 4 – Memphis, Saqqara, Dahshur

Following breakfast, take a bus to Egypt's administrative and funerary heart. Visit Memphis, which was the administrative capital of Egypt through most of its history and was mentioned in the Joseph narrative when he took as his wife the daughter of the “Priest of On (Memphis)” (Gen 41:45). Then visit the Saqqara and the artistic masterpiece of the Stepped Pyramid of King Djoser and the Pyramid of Unas with the earliest recorded pyramid texts. Then, explore Dahshur with its famous Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid.

Day 5 Day 5 – Land of Goshen

TDrive into the Eastern Nile Delta and visit the Land of Goshen. Set foot in Zoan, Ancient Tanis, where Moses performed miracles before Pharoah. “In the sight of their fathers, [Moses] performed wonders in the land of Egypt, in the fields of Zoan. When [Moses] performed his signs in Egypt and his marvels in the fields of Zoan.” – Psalm 78:12, 43. Explore the ruins of Tanis before journeying to the Red Sea, where Moses led the Israelites to escape from Pharoah.

Day 6 Day 6 – Mount Sinai

Drive to Sinai Mount, where Moses received the Ten Commandments and communicated ‎with God, and overnight in a hotel. Alternatively, Climb Saint Catharine Mountain. Visit the Greek Orthodox Saint Catharine Monastery ‎, one of the oldest working ‎Christian monasteries ‎in the world. Fly to Aswan this evening.

Day 7 Day 7 – Aswan

This morning, visit the unfinished obelisk and the Temples of Philae, where you will visit the Great Temples of Isis and Hathor. Then, visit Elephantine, where you can see the village where the Israelites settled after fleeing Nebuchadnezzar II following the assassination of the puppet governor Gedaliah. At Elephantine, you will see the remnants of the Israelite town and the relic of one of the few Temples of Yahweh that were ever made. Drive to Luxor this afternoon.

Day 8 Day 8 – Luxor and Karnak Temples

TThis morning, board a bus and travel to Karnak. In the afternoon, visit the Karnak Temple, which was built over 2000 years ago and is the largest religious building ever constructed, and see the famed Hypostyle Hall, the Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmosis III, the temple of Amun, the Granite Scarabeus and the Sacred Lake. Then, visit the magnificent Temple of Luxor, which has an avenue of sphinx statues and mighty monumental columns. After dinner, visit the Luxor Museum and the Luxor Souk to take in the local ambiance of the city.

Day 9 Day 9 – Valley of the Kings and Queens and the Valley Temples

This morning, visit the magnificent Valley of the Kings, the nearby Valley of the Queens, and the Tombs of Nobles. See the elaborately decorated tombs of the Kings of the 18th and 19th dynasties and learn how the Nobles' tombs relate to our understanding of the Biblical narrative. In Luxor, cross the river to visit the vast burial city called the Necropolis of Thebes this afternoon, located on the West Bank of the Nile. Your visit will take you to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, the Ramesseum, and the Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu, where much of the symbolism from the Bible comes together.

Day 10 – Fly to Amman
Fly to Amman in the morning. Enjoy a tour of the city, then transfer to your Dead Sea hotel.

Day 11 – Petra
Begin your journey south towards Petra today. Explore the city of Petra. Its entrance passes through a long, narrow gorge known as the Siq and can only be accessed by carriage, horseback or on foot. Once inside the city, marvel at the intricate detail of a city that was cut into the cliffsides of rose-colored rock. Travel to your hotel at the Dead Sea for dinner and overnight.

Day 12 – Madaba & Mount Nebo
Travel to Madaba, the City of Mosaics, to visit the Church of Saint George with its sixth-century, Byzantine, mosaic map showing Jerusalem and other holy sites. Continue to Mount Nebo, where Moses caught a glimpse of the Promised Land (Deut. 34). On a clear day, you can see all the way across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea to the rooftops of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Return to Amman and prepare for your overnight flight.
